The Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) was set up by the Reserve Bank of India in collaboration with Scheduled Commercial Banks in February 2006. The BCSBI has been registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. The Scheduled Commercial Banks, the Regional Rural Banks and the Scheduled Urban Co-operative Banks are the members of the BCSBI. Accordingly, our bank has become a member of the BCSBI. w.e. f. 17.08.2009, as permitted by the Board of the Bank.
The objective of Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) is to ensure that member Banks adhere to the voluntary codes which set minimum standards for fair and transparent treatment of individual and MSE customers availing of banking services.
The BCSBI brought out Code of Bank's commitment to the Customers & Code of Bank's commitment to the Micro and Small Enterprises and the same are placed before the Board and the Board of Directors in their meeting held 22.12.2009 have approved the same. The Code of Bank's commitment to the Customers & Code of Bank's commitment to the Micro and Small Enterprises are enclosed so that the customers are made aware of voluntary commitment to provide banking services of minimum standards, which provide protection to customers and they will, therefore, enjoy greater degree of trust and confidence on the Bank.
The Code promises greater transparency, enhanced level of customer service and a more efficient grievance redressal system at the banks.
